Tour of Egypt ( Cairo / Alexandria ) 21st Dec. – 26th December
Places Visited :
A. Explore the Historic City of Cairo ( 21/12 –23/12 ) – Visited Memphis Museum, Egyptian Museum, Citadel of Salah Din, The Grand Mosque of Mohammed Ali, Pyramids, the Grand Bazaar, Sphinx, Sakkara & Memphis including a night cruise cum dinner show along the Nile.
Accomodation : Golden Tulip Flamenco Hotel. Took a train ( 3 hour journey ) on 23rd to Alexandria .
B. Alexandria ( The Pearl of the Mediterranean ) – founded by Alexander the Great in 331BC has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern; - the sun, the sea and the way of life that goes with it.
Visited Bibliothecca Alexandria, a high-tech library, Pompey Pillar, Catacombs, Roman Amphitheatre, Montaza Palace Gardens.
Accomodation : - Windsor Palace Hotel ( built in 1906 ) which has its unique architecture blending , the ancient and the modern elegance. It is strategically situated opposite the esplanade by the Mediterranean Sea and within walking distance from the city center .
