1. Tokyo – 7/3 to 8/3 2011 Temperature maximum 9C minimum 4C

(a) Tsukijishijo Fish Market – very cold with snow flakes

(b) Sumita River / Hamarukyu Gardens – has waterbus for sightseeing around Tokyo

( c) Odaiba marine park at Subashi - Rainbow Bridge

(d) Imperial Palace

(e) Asakusa – Kanon temple, Sensoji temple

(f) Nakami Shopping Arcade – longest shopping street

(g) Shinjuku Shopping Mall

(h) Hakone – went by bullet train (JR) to Odawara , transfer to local subway line

to Hakone Mach-ko , then by bus up the highland to see lakes and snow-

covered trees and grounds – picturesque scenery – winter wonderland ; one of

the places in the highland area where we can view Mt. Fuji on a clear day.

(i) Kamakura – Great Buddha temple

2. Osaka – 9/3 to 10/3 Temperature 12C to 5C

stayed at J-Hoppers Osaka; went by bullet train from Tokyo ( 3 hour- journey) and made a day trip to Kobe.

(i) Osaka Castle – Osakajokoen

(ii) Kayukan Aquarium

(iii) Shimsaiba Shin – longest shopping arcade

(iv) Nara Deer Park – kotkuji temple

3. Kyoto – 11/3 to 13/3 – temperature 9C to 4C

10 mins walk from Kyoto station

(i) Kyoto Imperial Palace

(ii) Kiyomiza temple

(iii) Heion Jingu Shrine

(iv) Katsura Rikyu Gardens

(v) Gion district – took bus there from hostel

(vi) Shopping at Avanti Mall -10 mins walk from hostel

(vii) Aeon Mall

4. Took bullet train from Kyoto Station to Shingawa –transfer from there to Keikyu line via Haneeda Express to International Airport for homeward bound – flew at 11.45pm ( local time ) and arrived in LCCT , Kl at 6.15am on 14/3
